tumblrbot asked: WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST HUMAN MEMORY?

To be honest I have no idea - there are some memories of myself when I was about 2 or 3, but it could’ve me watching a recording when I was a little older. Aside from those ones, I’d have to say it was when i was about 4 and mum was using one of those old fashioned vegetable peelers (the ones with the organge handle) and told me specifically not touch it. When she left, I grabbed it and tried to peel a pumpin with it and got myself cut. When mum came back and noticed that the peeler had moved she asked if i had cut myself. I answered ‘no’ hiding my bleeding finger behind my back.

New printer………..

So we finally bought a new printer - hp office jet 6500, we bought it from Harvey Norman opposite High Point Shopping Centre, for a relatively reasonable price - 350 bucks including a full set of inks, plus we get an extra $100 cash back, provided I get the barcodes and receipts handed in on time. I decided on getting an inkjet rather than a mono laser as planned because, the salesperson said this printer was cheaper than running a laser, and could print just as fast (claimed 35 pages a min) plus i would be getting a fax, scanner and copier.

So when i put everything together wirelessly all went well, the colours were nice and bright, automatic duplexing was working (where it prints on both side and flips it for you, so you don’t need to reinsert the paper) and I was super stoked that everything was A-OK. But it was after I got home from dinner things started getting all funky :(

I decided to connect the printer via USB (the wireless stuff was to see whether it’s adapter was working) and print some lecture notes. Now, the printer won’t work properly - the automatic duplexing releases then paper and then tries to suck it back in again, which it can’t. And on top of that the printer’s giving me some weird messages, like telling me that there’s a paper jam or if it’s not that, it’s that there’s no paper when put the 1/2 the ream in the tray….

I’ve tried reverting back to the wireless and it doesn’t work. Looks like I’m gonna have to claim that warranty the same day I bought it…

10 things you (may or) may not know about me

  1. My parents were going to name me ‘Raymond’. But then mum decided that she wanted me to have her doctor’s name.
  2. I’m Viet and Malay (for some reason, I give a lot of people the impression that my background is HK)
  3. Out of me and my brothers, I’m the odd one out; music, games, interests, movies and just about everything else.
  4. When it comes to music, my tastes are weird. I generally listen to western pop and pop rock (not sure if i just made that up). There’s a freakishly large portion of my mp3 from Kelly Clarkson =S. Recently though, it’s expanded to a teeny bit of k-pop, classical and anything with a good beat.
  5. But wait, when it comes to watching stuff, it gets even more weird. For some reason I enjoy watching tap dancing with that irish river dance music, percussion music videos (like stomp the musical, could watch that all day) and these days 60’s dance (seen hairspray movie like 3 times already, the music and dance is soo lively and colourful)…seriously, i know i got problems. I think it’s energy in the videos - makes me feel good and lively.
  6. I’m a wonked up lefty. Well, I’m actually not quite sure of my handedness - left for co-ordination (e.g. writing, chopsticks etc) and right for power (e.g. sports, lifting stuff; you get the idea)
  7. Never broken a bone or had a serious injury before XD
  8. I’m more of a listener than a talker. Need to change a little, so I talk a little bit more.
  9. I’d much rather study than work - I know it’s not gonna happen, but if i had the choice to work professionally or study, i’d definitely choose study. I think it’s cos there’s so much about the world that can be learned, and I don’t really want to stick to something. I’m one of those guys who wants to do/be everything - again, not gonna happen.
  10. My English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese fails I’m a pretty firm believer in kharma. Not so much the rebirth, but the ‘comes around goes around’ part (that’s my main excuse for anything bad that happens to me). I reckon that everything that’s happened occurred for a reason, but we’re not bound by fate or destiny or anything like that.

New printer time!!

Uni’s back baby! (i’m personally glad, cos now I’ve got stuff to do for the next 12 weeks) and i think it’s time for me to invest in a new laser printer. Has anyone bought one of those $99 brother printers at office works? If so, can you tell me if it’s ok? My old printer’s an inkjet so printing notes from home is expensive (although not that expensive compared to other inkjets surprisingly - i’m able to print about ~700 pages from 1 cartridge, where as others only get about 300 sheets).

But the real reason i want it is cos of how much cheaper it is in the long run, quicker printer and my current printer sometimes sucks up 3+ pages at 1 time (super annoying when you do 2-sided printing and it sucks up 2 pages, so the pages are totally out of order >=(
